Information we collect
We collect information you provide to create and manage a MenuAI account and restaurant profile, as well as information needed to operate the service.
- Account information, such as your name, email address, and authentication details managed by our authentication provider.
- Restaurant information, including restaurant name, address, cuisine type, timezone, logo, and public menu content.
- Menu source files, images, text, and the corrections you make to AI-assisted extraction results.
- Technical and usage information, such as device type, browser, pages viewed, referring page, approximate location derived from IP address, and diagnostic events.
- Communications you send to support or otherwise provide to us.
How we use information
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve MenuAI.
- Process menu files and generate structured menu drafts at your direction.
- Publish restaurant information and menu content you choose to make public.
- Generate QR codes and deliver public menu pages.
- Communicate about service updates, security, support, and account administration.
- Measure product performance, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
AI processing
When you request AI-assisted menu processing, relevant menu text, images, or files may be sent to our AI service provider to perform image understanding, extraction, structuring, or text improvement. We use server-side integrations and limit the information sent to what is needed for the requested operation.
AI output can be inaccurate. MenuAI presents extracted content as a draft for restaurant-owner review before it becomes canonical or public.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that process data for us under appropriate contractual restrictions, such as hosting, database, storage, authentication, analytics, email, customer support, and AI providers.
- When you direct us to publish restaurant and menu information publicly.
- To comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or enforce our terms.
- As part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable safeguards.
Public menu information
Published restaurant menus are available without login. Information you publish—including restaurant details, categories, items, prices, descriptions, tags, and images—may be viewed and shared by anyone with the link.
Search indexing is a separate owner-controlled setting. MenuAI should add a public menu to search sitemaps only when its owner explicitly enables indexing.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary by data type. Menu source files and AI-processing records should follow documented retention limits.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also change published menu content and indexing settings through the service when those controls are available.
Cookies and analytics
MenuAI may use essential cookies for authentication, security, and preferences. Any non-essential analytics or marketing technology must be documented and, where required, used only after appropriate notice or consent. The production policy should name the analytics providers selected before launch.
Children and international use
MenuAI is a business service and is not directed to children. The initial service is intended for United States restaurant businesses. If international use is enabled, this policy and the service's data-transfer safeguards must be reviewed for the applicable regions.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date. Before launch, MenuAI must publish a verified privacy contact address and legal business identity in this section.
